FAQ

Generally, a family or maternity session lasts around 1 hour. Extended family sessions, storytelling sessions and lifestyle newborn sessions last slightly longer between 1.5-2 hours.
We can choose the place that suits your family best, whether that is the great outdoors, the comfort of home or somewhere more personal to you.
Think comfort first of all, it can feel like a long shoot if your clothes are restrictive. Try to keep your families outfits along a similar color theme, although the years of matching outfits may be behind us now!
I include up to 6 immediate family members, however extra family members can be added for an additional fee. If you're planning a big extended family session I have a separate package for this which makes it better value.
My sessions are always child led to make sure they flow as best as possible. I know it can be intimidating having a stranger come and point a big camera at you so I try to spend a bit of time getting to know your children first to help them feel more comfortable around me. Having worked in schools, nurseries and being a parent myself, I have lots of experience with working with all types of children and have plenty of tricks up my sleeve for getting them to smile and relax in front of the camera.
British weather is very unpredictable - I often find when the forecast says it will rain it's then completely fine the day of! With that in mind, I'll make a final decision an hour before the session and if it's still a high chance of rain then we can rearrange the session to a different day. If any members of your family are sick then we can reschedule the session (please let me know no later than the evening before the session).
My usual turnaround for family, maternity and newborn sessions is 2 weeks after the session. The images will be uploaded to a private online gallery where you can select your chosen images. The final edits on those images will then be ready within 48 hours where they can be downloaded/ shared with your loved ones. For extended family and storytelling sessions I have a slightly longer turnaround of 3-4 weeks.
The online gallery will remain active for 2 weeks for you to make a selection of your images. Any chosen images will remain in the gallery for 6 months but can be extended for an additional fee.
My sessions include travel within 15 miles of York, however I can travel up to 2 hrs for an additional fee depending on my availability. I sometimes visit family in the South of England, so if you live further afield it's worth enquiring to see if our schedules can line up.
Of course! Your furry friends are part of the family and deserve to be included in your family album. Although I can’t guarantee getting your cat to co-operate - they answer to no-one!
To secure your session there's just a £50 deposit to pay (£100 for extended family and storytelling sessions) and a photography agreement to sign. The remaining amount will then be due the day of the session. I book sessions up to 3 months in advance but I contact families on my waitlist first.
